At the entrance of the PIRAEUS sea-port
some underwater blastings were required,
which were included in the general project for the "Piraeus Port Modernisation",
in order to construct a new Dock (Vassiliadi Coast area)
and to deepen the sea floor during constructing a new Dock for Super-Cruisers
(Palataki Coast area).
We were asked to perform a blasting vibration monitoring program
and provide blast consulting services,
in order to achieve the effective management of blasting implemetation
and to prevent damage risk due to the blast vibrations.

NEW POWER PLANT AT ATHERINOLAKKOS, LASITHI CRETE
From the Hellenic Public Power Corporation was asked to perform
a blast vibration monotoring program (concerning both, surface and underwater blasting)
at the area of the new Power Plant by Atherinolakkos, Lasithi Crete.
The scope of the program was to estimate the risk of causing damages or harmful effects at the concreting sites and the structures of the new Power Plant. We collected, analysed and evaluated the monitoring data, in order to be able to submit guides and rules for the blast design, so that the proper specifications could be kept, as well as the damage risk could be effectively managed. ![]() General view of the the new Power Plant construction area and the sea-port. ![]() Underwater blast for the deepen of the sea-port of ATHERINOLAKKOS Power Plant. |
